VBA password

I'm sure that password-cracking information isn't shared here, but my
institution has a database created by a former employee who passworded not
only the database forms, which we were able to crack, but the code as well.
We have been unable to find a way to access the code and though I wouldn't
expect exact information on how to crack the password, can anyone tell me if
it's even possible so we know whether to spend time and money on the project
or to abandon and start over?
