VB6 runtime does not install

The same VB6 install file that works fine in W98 does not install in
W2K. I get no error screen, just a instant start of setup, vanishes, and
nothing else happens.

Is there a special version of VB6 for W2K?

TIA

If you have all the service packs and updates installed, you should already have
VB6 runtime.

To verify, do a search for msvbvm60.dll in your %SystemRoot%\system32 folder.

Here's a link that may interest you:

Thanks, either SP4 has it already, or this new 2.5 GHZ is very quick
compared to my old P166 as install of the above happened in maybe 0.1
second. I checked and do have msvbvm60.dll in System32 folder. But a
very handy cleaner util called CrapCleaner still gives a runtime error
screen so I will look into that elsewhere. I will find what other VB6
files are installed and see if I have them.

You can download all of the VB6 runtime files from the page I supplied a link
to. Look under the section called "What Others Are Downloading".
