I am writing apps in VB .NET to run on devices that have Win CE as the OS. I
am new to both. I really need basic help on the coding. My apps all call MS
SQL databases.

I have read Samples, Walkthrus, and support forum postings for weeks. I
really need a good book to code the VB with CF in mind. Is there one that
would be good I can order right away?

Thanks

Hi!

You can try Microsoft Official Curriculum Course # 2556A, "Developing Mobile
Applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework". This goes directly to the
point, many examples, outstanding value IMHO.

Also, you may wish to take a closer look to "Microsoft ,NET Compact
Framework", Microsoft Press, by Andy Wigley and Stephen Wheelwrigth. For a
general perspective of the operating system you can check "Programming
Microsoft CE .NET", but most of the examples come written in C#.

Hope this can help,

Hello Daniel,
I have been reading your reviews. I am really looking for a VB-only - WinCE
book.
Does the Yao book cover these?

Thanks,
Steve

Hello Carlos,
This is the only posting I could find that mentions 2556A Course.
One of my co-workers left our department recently without finishing
his Mobile application project. Now I'm the one who has to complete it.
He left 2556A Course textbook, but lost the CD which has all the materials.
Is there any way I could get this CD somewhere? I searched E-bay, but
couldn't find it.
