I recently received some very useful code from a co
worker he said to insert it into my editor
tools|macro|visual basic editor but when I try to run it
nothing happens it won't start. I tried re booting
nothing any suggestions?
Thanks

I tried that as well but the security menu doesn't open either. Should
I do a repair on Office 2003 next?
thanks for the help...

I'd try Help | detect and repair. You might also rename the Outcmd.dat file
and restart Outlook.

I tried to check that and the securuties program wont
even run. I tried doing a repair on Office 2003 and it's
still not working. Any further suggestions would be
appreciated.

Thanks

Other things to try - shut down Outlook, rename outcmd.dat, restart Outlook
and test. Repeat with vbaproject.otm. Rerun setup to make sure that the VBA
component is installed. Each time you shut down Outlook, use Task Manager to
make sure Outlook.exe is shut down before you restart.

Okay so I did Help|Repair that didn't fix the problem. I renamed each
file you outlined seperatly and tested still not working. I checked the
installer and it says it is installed to run on My Computer. I am
stumped anyone??? Thanks for the suggestions so far..

I don't know what you mean by "it is installed to run on My Computer."

Also note: The newsgroup interface you are using apparently does not quote
earlier messages in the thread, making your latest message so short on
detail that you risk not getting the answer you're looking for. Please take
the time to quote the original message.

What I ment when I said Installed to run on my computer is when I ran
the office 2003 setup disk and checked to add/Remove Components it said
the component was installed already. You had suggested in your last
message to try checking to see if the VBE editor was installed. I know
it's there because I have called it from other programs like Excel.
Thanks for the heads up on the reply quote issue. Any suggestions as to
why outlook can't call the editor?
Cheers

I don't know what you mean by "it is installed to run on >My Computer."

All we know is that it happens some times. I've never seen a good
explanation of why. If you have a retail copy of Office, yoiu might want to
file a support incident at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;incidentsubmit. You
will need a .Net Passport, but there should be no charge for filing the
request.

Make sure Outlook is really and truly shut down before you start it by
checking in Task Manager. If another program such as ActiveSync starts
Outlook first, VBA may not load.
