Various my docs etc

Hi
I had problems and had to reinstall windows.
Now I seem to have various my docs some with stuff in them.
Not sure what I can get rid of and who my docs is. e.g when I open a word
doc it says "this doc is being used by me do you want to make a copy".
How do I find out who I am so I can kill some of these my docs/music etc and
which should I leave (admin?).
Also I have programs left over from before the reinstall. Some work, some
don't. They only appear in windows explorer. If you download a new copy it
knows the old one is there even though it doesn't appear on the start menu.
How do you delete these? There is no uninstall.
Hope this sort of makes sence.

It sounds as though you may well have installed another instance of Win,
rather than repaired or clean installed, how you proceded depends on what
you want and whether you have backed up your origonal data and have all App
cd's
