Anyone point me to anywhere that gives the best comparison between the
different x800 cards and possibly the manufacturers.

I'm trying to decide which is the best valueas an upgrade to a 9600XT.

.... and dont tell me ANY x800 ! 8)

TIA

Nvidia 6800 GT is good card for the price you pay and performance it
delivers...At the moment ATI just can't beat this card for the price and
performance.

hmmm, just about. Thanks for that. I really need to know if there are any
manufacturers to steer clear of or to lean toward.

At the moment I have a Sapphire card and its been great but are Powercolour
or Connect3D any good?

I also see Asus and Abit do the X800, just to confuse me even more. I'll
keep searching before buying...

There are three basic flavours, the X800 Pro, Pro + VIVO and XT.

I don't think there are any bad manufactures all the boards look pretty
much like the ATi reference design.

Some get fancy with heatsinks, there may be variations in GPU and memory
clock speeds. There are variations in what else you get in the box. When I
looked Asus had a load of extras for little extra price.

I went for a connect3D Pro VIVO. Connect3D because that was all I could
find in stock at the time and VIVO because the GPU on the VIVO can be
hacked to enable an extra 4 pipelines. If one had been available I would
probably have got one with extra goodies from Asus.

The situation may have changed. Look at the card specs and the extras, look
around the online forums for info on modding and overclocking if you are
into that.

I guess its a case of what I can get for the pennies I have saved then...

I was going to steer clear of Connect3d but now I might not. I was also
seriously looking at the Asus. That may be the way I go.

Thanks for the info 8))
