I have Excel 2000 and I want to be able to assign a list
of varialbles with the data posted at the top of the
worksheet. But I want to be able to input the varialable
into cells and have the ability to change the value in the
list and replace this variable with another.

Sincerely yours,
Leslie H. Howell

Hi Leslie!

A1: Rent
B1: 1000

A3:
=B1*12

Change B1 and the answer in C1 changes. B1 is a variable with the
current value being the entry in B1.

Better would be to
Select B1
Type Rent in the name box immediately to the left of the formula bar
and press Enter.

A3:
=Rent*12

Norman

What I have is a list of contry's and their money exchange values

Spain SP 1.2
China CH .7
Canada CA 1.

The variables are SP, CH, CA. Down in the spreadsheet is a colum where I want to input the variables. This area is really a parts list for a product. The values being assigned change on an almost daily basis since it is a dollar to forien currency. The other problem is some of the parts will be ordered by using another country so the variables will change in the spreadsheet. The value of the exchange needs to be changed daily as the dollar changes by inputing the change at the top and having it show up else where in the spreadsheet

Thanks for the input!!!
