Hi,
I have a 50 page word document. The name of a person appears on
the top right corner of each page. All pages have the same name. If the
name is misspelled and I correct it on the first page is it possible for
word to correct the name on the rest of the 49 pages automatically. I have
been using the replace command. Is there an easier way? We type several
documents in this manner can I use some type of variable that would solve my
problem on documents I type in the future.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Justin

Yes, you need to put the name into the header. If you use a field, you can
pick up the value from a single source.

The way I would normally do something like this (assuming the name also
appears on the first page as some sort of title?) is to use a special style
for the name, and then a STYLEREF field in the header. However, there are
other possibilities such as saving the name as a property of the document
(which you may want to do anyway so it shows up in Windows Explorer) and
picking that up with a field, or possibly using a form field to enter the
name, and referring to the value by the field bookmark.
