After removing various forms of cwshredder such as
cws.svchost32, cws.smartsearch and cws.jksearch using
cwshredder software(freeware)spyware was still present on
the computer.
Microsoft antispyware froze(100% cpu usage aswell) half
way through scanning during scanning memory for variable
browser hijack and deleted spyware reappeared.
hijack this(freeware) was unable to restore nor delete
permanently the damaging effects of the spyware which I
have a sneaking suspicion it has lodged itself in the
system registry.
I have searched for any suspicious registry entries but
alas no luck.
I also check the host file which is locked and managed
Hostman and deleted, corrected corrupted entries.
I have not visited any porn or related sites and the
software I have installed is freeware.
Also I have not downloaded/installed any active x cpts
but I suspect they installed silently.
I have the latest updates installed for xp pro.
I am at a lost as to what to do to remove this
unidentified spyware.
Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ps have tried to submit a report with Microsoft
antispyware but error occurred.
