Vanishing imported pictures in Powerpoint

Hi, somehow I've activated something that makes imported pictures NOT display
when I'm editing my powerpoint presentations. They still show up in the slide
shows. It's very frustrating as I can't import then edit and I'm making a
presentation in less than 24 hours!! Any help will be most graciously
recieved!

Hi Luc, thaks for the links - it turned out that freakily enough it was
having my editor in Outlook set to Word - which I would NEVER have figured
out for myself. You saved the day!

Wow ... nice detective work. How ever did you figure that one out?

And no matter how you worked it out, thanks for reporting back about it.
 
Aha, the old "Sounds close enough, let's try it" trick.
Good thinking.

I've added the suggestion to the more general PPT troubleshooting page on the FAQ
