Good morning!
The machine is running Windows XP Home 2002 (Dell OEM), SP1, multiple
passworded logins. All actions described are using a login with
administrator rights.
When in the Network Connections applet, only the LAN connection item
shows. If you use the Make New Connection applet, it appears to
finish, but the new dial-up connection never shows. If you selected to
have a shortcut placed on the desktop during the setup, the shortcut
does appear, and will dial a connection.
The connections appear in Internet Options, can be modified from
there.
The connections do not function correctly; if there is no active
dialup, double-clicking the desktop shortcut will make a normal
connection. Despite the check in "place icon in tray", no icon shows
in the System Tray after connection. Double-clicking the shortcut
again causes another dialing sequence, instead of bringing up the
current status.
Any pointers? Replies to group only.
