Barbara

I have attempted to download the Spyware. After I enter
the COA product Key from the sticker on my Dell Dimension
I receive the following message "Validation Incomplete:
unable to collect enough information about your PC to make
a determination" Any ideas concerning how to correct his
problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sorry--I wasn't suggesting that you do that, I was wondering whether you had
gone into tools, internet options, security tab, or advanced tab, and made
changes.

I've heard that it is possible to block the validation tool with settings
changes, but without any detail about which settings would have that effect.

You can get the download without going through the activation process, but
it would be good to get that completed.

I did not changes any settings in the internet options.
Did you know what setting options should read to allow the
validation? I could then check mine. Thanks.

There are a couple of places in those pages where you can choose to set to
defaults. I would chose those, with the exception of keeping your chosen
home page. Do you have other security or antivirus suite software
installed?

OK - I will check to make sure default settings are chosen.
Yes, I do have other security. I downloaded the Microsoft
in Service Pack 2 when it became available. I also use
Norton Antivirus. I have a wireless set-up and I believe
the router has a "firewall" - does that sound correct?

All those things sound normal and expected--they are the right things to
have done--glad to here it!

None of those things should be interfering with the validation process as I
understand it, which is somewhat dimly. I have seen a message from another
very experienced use who has seen this message on a couple of machines. She
also has no idea what the cause of the problem is. We've asked for guidance
about how to respond to this error message, but it may take some time to get
it.

Thanks for all your help!
