When trying to install Windows 2000 Pro I keep getting
prompted with the following message when setup attempts to
begin copying files to the hard drive.
_____
The file compstui.dll was not copied correctly.
The file setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid
Windows 2000 system image. If you are installing from a
CD, there may be a problem with the Windows 2000 CD.
_____
At that point it tells me I can retry, skip the file, or
exit setup.
Note: compstui.dll is not the first file that I get
prompted with this message; it's one among many.
Thus far I have tried the following for a resolution:
*Cleaned the current Windows 2k CD & tried a seperate
Windows 2k CD
*Tried a different CD-ROM drive.
*Tried a different hard drive.
*Tried different memory.
None worked. I'm running out of ideas fast. Any help
would be appreciated, and if you need more info, just ask.
Thanks,
-Scott
