I've created some charts in Excel v.x and then copied and pated them into Word X. No problem. However, if I move that document to a Windows machine the images are replaced by a box with a red X rather than the image. Is there a way to control the quality (image type or size) of the original copy and paste to make it readable when moved to windows?

Thanks!

This is a problem I recall having with PowerPoint. It relates to using
paste-link, and then moving the file to another drive or computer, and
the original file (which the moved file is linked to) cannot be found.

You can use a regular paste, which pastes the chart and all the
associated workbook baggage into the Word document. You could paste
special as a picture, which pastes a picture of the chart. Or you could
even copy the chart as a picture, by holding Shift and selecting Paste
Picture from the Edit menu (I like the On Screen and As Picture
options), then pasting this copied picture.

I second Jon's recommendations. I work with both cross-platform and
single-platform integrated applications all the time, and pasting As
Picture leads to much less frequent corruption in either WinWord or
MacWord.
