v.2000 queries don't work in v.2002

I created a database in Access 2000 that uses multiple queries. The database works fine in 2002 until I try to change the query or the source tables. When I change a source table or try to save changes in the query, the whole database shuts down.

Any ideas

Can you create a new query "from scratch" in the Access 2002 version? Does
it work?

Where are you changing the source table? In the query definition? In the
table definition?

Is there an error message when the database "shuts down"?

Yes, the new queries created in 2002 seem to work just
fine.

The system I built requires the user to import tables from
Excel to replace the old data. The imported tables have
the same name, so they worked just fine in the 2000
queries. I did some testing on this to see if the
importing was the problem, but it seems that any sort of
table manipulation affects the queries. If I sort the
data in a source table and then hit save, the v2000
queries stop working.

There is no error message when Access shuts down.

What a mess....
convert to 2002 then
--go through the Properties of all tables and make
sure SubDatasheet Name is set to None
--make sure all Name AutoCorrect options are off

the last 2 are ones that probably won't affect you,
but now you know.

Then, maybe, you'll be able to use your db. 8-)
