Utility needed to scan for shares and permissions

I am searching for a util that will scan a network (or
range of ips) for shares. I want to be able to see the
permissions on the share as well. I have recently passed
by something for this and cant remember for the life of me
where it was.

You might be interested in AdmWin / NTinfo. http://www.admwin.com. Select a
domain or create a list of machines, check the "Shares" checkbox and click
"Scan".
