I'm presently moving to a new PC running XP after using ME without too much
hassle. I found two utilities very useful on the old machine, Koldbear's
"ScanFrag" facility and the "Adaware" software. Is ScanFrag XP compatible
and, if so, is it really necessary on XP? Secondly, will Adaware run OK on
XP?

I'd also like to hear views on what I, as a very new user, should buy in the
way of an Introductory manual for XP. I find the online Help comprehensive
but overwhelming.
Thanks, Peter

1) Scanfrag: Not familiar with it
2) Adaware: Works fine. If you have an older version, download a newer
one.
3) Windows XP - Inside Out from Microsoft Press is pretty good.

I still had the scandefrag shortcut on my ME-XP upgrade. I hit it and it
says it is for 9X systems only. Plus, I don't think it is necessary.
Unlike the ME NGs, where in systemtools half the complaints are that
defrag and scandisk don't work, nothing like that here in the XP NGs.
