I am going to purchase a USR Broadband Router, if i were at a later date to
purchase a WAP and plug it in would i have "essentially" a wireless
broadband router?

Any comments are appreciated!
THANKS

Right, thats helpful, could you extend? I mean on the router there are 5
RJ45 plugs (1 for cable modem) could i simply plug and play???

Thanks

I just mean the wireless AP should bridge your wired to the wireless (or
vice versa). Then you can connect wirelessly to your LAN and have Internet
just like any wired box. As far as plug and play goes, it depends on the AP.
It will need to have an IP address on your LAN if you wnat to be able to
manage it over the network. This is a pretty straightforward setup -
probably the most common for hybrid (wired/wireless) networks.

Look at USR's web site they have a couple devices that will hook up wireless
and through the 4 port switch you can plug in the wired devices. There is
the SRx (125Mbps) & Turbo version (125Mbps) and the regular 54Mbps.

I did that,would the U.S. Robotics® Wireless Gaming Adapter & Ethernet
Bridge be suitiable? I know it seems expensive for what it is but i
really want simple Plug and Play connectivity.

Thanks Again

Gavin - Any comments appreciated!

I might have missed what you wanted to do. I saw nothing about connecting a
gaming box -- Xbox or Playstation etc. And, I'll assume you already have
the broadband modem. But, if I were to set this up for myself I would use
their network configuration wizard and only add the gaming bridge for the
game boxes. (http://www.usr.com/products/wireless/wizard.asp)

USR will suggest the basic with an optional USB NIC swap for NIC cards.
This device looks like the gaming bridge but is a NIC vs a Gaming Bridge. I
have noted that they suggest their top "Multifunction" WAP/Router at the
bottom. The difference is not worth the money if you have the broadband
modem -- $69USD vs$149USD.
