Those of us who like to have more than one scanner up and running at
the same time are presumably in Microsoft's eyes a vanishingly small
minority not worth bothering about. It was over a year from first
raising the problem with their technical people that they eventually
admitted the problem. Their workaround which they then issued I had
been using since XP was first launched. I don't believe it will ever
be fixed as USBscan sys. is deeply embedded in XP and would be too
complex/expensive to change.
BTW the normal protocol is to reply via the news group not an
individual email.
