Using XSL Transform with WordML and Bullets

I am using a WordProcessingML document as an XSL stylesheet to transform xml
documents creating new xml documents. One element that I cannot figure out
is the Bullets within the WordProcessML XSL stylesheet. Using a center
bullet "fairly normal" but it is a special character that will not work with
XSL. The bullet is a illegal character to XSL. Any help??
