I am having problems with word documents. I have made word documents at work
, which has XP installed, and emailed them to me, but when I open them at
home on my laptop, which has vista, it is coded jibberish. Is there maybe
some kind of patch to use to make word documents , or excel stuff work with
Vista?

See if this helps.

Hi, Katie.

If Dave's URL doesn't answer your question, please post it again in one of
the many newsgroups for Microsoft Word. This group is for hardware devices.
You'll have a much better chance of a helpful answer in a Word or Office
group.

Katie,
1.- Use a pen drive for carrying your documents from work to your notebook.
That would eliminate data corruption through mail as a cause.
2.- Check your Office version at work and in your notebook.
3.- Try saving your documents as Word 95 or Excel 95 and then opening in
your notebook.
