Does someone know of a work around. I took the advice of many Office
2003 reviews that I have read (including the Wall Street Journal) and
purchased only Outlook 2003 - not bothering to upgrade Word, etc.

But when I tried to set Word as my e-mail editor in Outlook 2003, I
wasn't allowed to since I hadn't upgraded to Word 2003.

Any suggestions on how I can work around this?

Either downgrade to Outlook 2002, buy Word 2003, or stop using Word as your
e-mail editor. (I'd go with the last option.)

Yes. Don't use Word as your default mail editor. Composing your message in
Rich Text or HTML format will give you almost as much formatting capability
as using Word, under ordinary conditions.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

But be aware that if you send RTF mail to a non-Outlook user they will have
problems with any attachments you might send.
