Using WMM to make CD, DVD

I'm working to create a first CD or DVD from a small/trial WMM creation.
I'd like to play it on the home DVD player, i.e. TV. Imported some great
Sony DV-camcorder content, but wondered about the below...

1) After making the movie, looks like next step is File > Save Movie File >
Recordable CD (or should I save to C-drive) > (give filename) > then,
question is...what's best "Movie Setting" for max res? There are lots in
"Other Settings" ...I'm in U.S., would it be:
-High Quality Video (NTSC)

1a) What type file should I save this file as, to preserve best and most
(sort of like a master file) so I could then later make small sized
versions, big sized, whatever.

2) Once saved, will this CD play on a DVD player in living room, or do I
need to do more like...

3) Go to a DVD creator program like (MyDVD or Roxio...only two I got becuase
they were pre-installed) and import the WMM file, create menu's and all that
stuff, then save it to (burn?) the DVD?

4) Also, what good is 'Make Movie' to a recordable-CD...is that *only* good
if you plan to play it on another PC? Also, Roxio has a "make cDVD"
option...that puts a DVD on a CD...is the idea to trick the home DVD player
into playing what's really just a R/W-CD?

Thanks for any insights/suggestions to get going here,
George

If you plan to make a DVD then you want to save it to your computer.
Other Settings -> DV-AVI is recommended when your final result is to be a
DVD.
1a) What type file should I save this file as, to preserve best and most

As above DV-AVI
2) Once saved, will this CD play on a DVD player in living room, or do I

You need a DVD Authoring program. I personally don't like MyDVD but since
you already have it for free it will do the job. I definitely don't
recommend using the Roxio program. Otherwise I have a list of some of the
more popular DVD Authoring programs in the "DVD Programs" section of my
website along with links for downloading. Most offer a free trial version of
the software.
