I'm having a bit of trouble using WinRAR, V 3.09 Beta
1. I've save and compressed all my e-mail for the
month and now can't seem to understand how to transfer
a couple of the folders back to the reader. I hope
someone here uses that program and may have an idea
how to decompress a particular folder.
Thanks for info,
Don

That's why you don't use *beta* products.

You'll need to discuss this with the developer of WinRar -

You do understand that BETA means the program/s still have bugs that are
being flushed out, right? Never install a BETA of anything and then try
to rely on it, especially when you aren't already fluent with the
program. The purpose of BETA versions is to collect bug lists.

Step back to the previous stable actual release of the product. Then if
you have problems you at least know it's not due to it being a BETA
release.

Thank you...I had a feeling I shouldn't install a
Beta, but my finger was faster than my brain. :-(

Thanks Twayne`, I certainly do NOW! I'll see if I can
find an older version.

I use WinRAR v3.80. I love this program and have never had a problem with
it. My only guess is that something is quirky about the Beta version you're
using. I'd drop back to v3.80 and try what you're doing again.

I just went back to that version and now things are
working fine. So I just wanted to echo you comment
about dropping back to an earlier released version.
Thanks for the comment.

I wasn't trying to put you down; I just wanted to make the point ultra
clear. You're not the first to have this issue and won't be the
last<g>.

I understand, and didn't feel slighted in the least.
I do understand the process of testing new products.
In the mid-1900's I worked for a high tech aerospace
corporation under contract to NASA (that's to let you
get a feel for the level of work). We would often let
our secretaries (no put down intended here) run the
test procedures before we would call in a NASA
engineer to test and approve the equipment. We found
after several months that the secretaries got good
enough to "assume" the intent of the instructions and
would overlook an engineering problem and pass the
equipment.

Your reply made me think of that and other items of
those days. So, in reply to you I say,
"Thanks for the memories!" :-D

Happens to me all the time, too! Gads that makes us sound old! Anyway,
glad it's sorted out.
