Is there a way to use Windows Messenger inside a local area network without going to the outside world? If not is there another XP utility that communicates within a local area network?

Hi,

Fomine Real-Time Communications Server, completely compatible with Microsoft
Windows Messenger, is a cost-effective solution for real-time communication
within an office or an entire organization.

See details here:

Hi Joe,

If you did, you'd know -- the local Exchange IM Server I'm referring to is the one within
Exchange 2000 Server:
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange
and the SIP-based Communications Service, I'm referring to Live Communications Server (in
terms of Microsoft-made)
http://www.microsoft.com/office/livecomm
or something like the Formine product that Vitali posted to you.
