Well, today was a small shocker whent he boss indicated the new person
that has been hired will be reviewing the company architecture for
eventually moving over to web services. That included the large A2007
db with sql server 2005 backend that I maintain. From googling I'm
not finding that much on A2007 and web services. So I thought I would
post here and inquire if any one has/is doing any Access development
using web services? If so, is there a site that gives a good
explanation and samples? I might as well begin preparing for the
eventual.
Thanks.

To add to what Doug mentioned, Access 2010 has an option for "Access Web
Services". That option provides the capability to use Access to create a
user interface to SharePoint (only). The resulting application uses
SharePoint to store the data, and generates code (HTML, XML, Java, etc.)
that will run under a browser. Neither the UI nor database functions are as
complete and flexible as provided in Access on a LAN, but it will satisfy
demand for "Access web apps" in organizations that have installed and
already use SharePoint (which will mostly be large companies).

While there is a big push and much hype about "cloud computing", IMNSHO,
there are more web applications implied by that approach than there are real
_requirements_ for web applications. Good luck.
