hy

i'm trying to use a website as my desktop wallpaper. i
tried using one that's stored on my harddrive as well as
entering the URL. on the desktop, it only show a small
square from the web, but not the whole site. can someone
tell me how i can have the whole website being displayed
on my screen instead of just showing a small portion of
it? thanks!

Odd request. Text and all? Or just the image?
If just the image, right click on the image>save picture as>navigate to
C:\WINDOWS\WEB\Wallpaper> Save.

Otherwise, it can be done by using a viewer such as Irfanview (freeware)
maybe even Mspaint, or other viewers. It's a roundabout process but here is
how:
Open web page>Press print screen>open Irfanview (or whatever you
use)>edit>paste>crop image to size omitting whatever you want>save as
whatever name in C:\WINDOWS\WEB\Wallpaper. Active desktop must be enabled to
see Html. images. Access it by Display properties>background>select.

I should add that if you use Mspaint it will just save it as a Bitmap which
will be *huge* in size, probably 100's of times larger than the number of
bytes in a Jpg image. Advantage with Bmp's is that you needn't use
ActiveDesktop>view as web page to use it.

Example of size difference for same image as Bmp vs. Jpg. is:
1.14 MB vs. 94.3 KB
