On my home network, I use a Windows XP machine as my
gateway to the internet. When I attach my Windows 2000
machine to my home network, I cannot connect to my
office using a VPN Extranet Client Adapter. What changes
to the networking setup are needed in order to make this
work?

Thanks,
Chuck

Your using a XP client as the connection sharing device behind a cable/dsl
modem?

[ inet ] --- [ modem ] ---- [xp] --- [? ] ---- [w2k]

Assuming this is your home network setup, what is in the question mark ? A
hub, switch?

Is XP set up as an ICS host?

Paul,

My setup is as follows:

[ inet ] --- [ modem ] ---- [xp] --- [switch] ---- [w2k]

The XP machine was setup with the XP Home Networking
Wizard be the ICS host.

Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck,

If the XP machine is setup to allow ICS it should allow the tunnel to be
created. Are you using Microsoft VPN or a 3d party? If a 3d party it maybe a
compatibility issue, but we would need to know more about the 3d party
client and if its using PPTP, L2TP or other protocols to establish the vpn.
