I am trying to set up my home computer so that I can access it from another computer via the internet and do not know how to set it up nor how to access it once it is set up. Could you give me a set of steps, instructions, or a site that explains how to do this. Thanks

How I setup one of my XP Pro boxes as a PPTP VPN server using the first link above as a
guide...ignore the PocketPC part...

Adam,

"So that I can access it from another computer via the internet"

You can use RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) If you have Windows XP PRO at home make sure you enable RDC by going to My Computer>Properties>Remote>Remote Desktop>Check the box>Click Apply and OK.

Now, enable the ICF if you haven't done it yet
My Network Places>Properties>Local Area Network>Properties>Advanced tab>Check Internet Connection Firewall>Click the Settings button at the botton of the tab and select Remote Desktop.

Now, if your PC is on all the time and connected to the internet all the time all you need is to have your IP address with you and a computer to connect from.

TRICK: RDC comes by default in Windows XP but you need to install the client for W2K stations.
Download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp
and install it....open it and put your IP address....you'll be on your Home PC in no time.

Hoep it helps....
