I am using Windows XP with two cd drives, one a cd burner, and the
other a CD/DVD reader. When I run software that requires the CD to be
present to start the program, the software works when I put the CD ROM
into the drive from which it was installed. It doesn't work when I
use the other drive. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Both drives
seem to function properly otherwise, and I can install software from
either drive.

Thanks,

The install location for programs is often in the
registry. You can change the drive letter in the registry
entry to the other drive to make it work.

If you are not familiar with the registry, don't try it!
