Using the touchpad makes the website pages scroll erratically

When I place my finger on the touchpad, if I accidently touch the edge
of the touchpad
it makes the page on my browser scroll (very fast)vertically. Could
someone please tell me
how to fix this problem, as it is very annoying.

Go to the Control Panel and either open the Mouse applet or look for a
separate applet for your touchpad - it might be called "Synaptics". In
either case, there should be options for disabling the vertical scroll,
changing functions, sensitivity, etc.
