Dear ALL,

just last week a win2000AS Domain Controller has crashed , but no problem
occours because there are other two.

I'v run ADSEdit succesfully in order to clear any Active Directory
information belonging to crashed machine .

I'm going to reinstall all the environment (operating system and active
directory) and I'd like give the same name of the crashed machine: is that
operation possible, so the same name could cause troubles.

You can use the same name, but why would you want to? Is it because it
fits in with your naming structure? Does it matter if it was called
educ01 and is now educ02? We have a sort of reason - our server names
relate to the asset number, but if the machine had to be replaced, we'd
have to use a new name anyway!

I'm not saying that you should NOT use the same name - I'm merely saying
that if it is not essential that you use the same name, you may save
yourself some problems by using a different name!

Cheers,

Cliff
