Using the Notes Pane as a Storyboard Template

I would like to use the Notes Pane as a place to store a storyboard
template to record meta-information for each slide. Of course, each
slide would have different meta-info but the tags need to repeat in
each slide's notes.

I think I've figured out how to insert a table in the Notes Master but
the only view that will show the table is the Notes view. None of
PPT's default "paned" views show the table. This is a deal-breaker for
me! Any ideas? We are a group of instructional designers using
PowerPoint to create instructor-led training, if that gives you any
clues as to what we are trying to accomplish.
 
Yes, I know just what you want, but I don't have good news. The notes pane
only shows the text in the notes, not the formatting, any objects added, or
anything else. Unfortunately, Send to Word works the same as well. If you
figure out a solution, let me know. I have several clients who want to be
able to do this :)

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

Thank you for feeling my pain. I don't have high hopes to
be able to do this. I really hate having to "live" all day
long in a 1980's vintage word processor, which is what the
Notes view is. Our materials have too long of a shelf-life
for me to work in Word after doing the Send to Word
command.

I don't understand why Microsoft would pay so little
attention to this very powerful area of PPT. It's as if
they are daring you to use the notes area at all. Anyone
who presents or trains a lot relies on this area.
