using the clipbook

When I copy any text or anything, and try to paste it into a different
program such as notepad/FrontPage or word, it only will paste if the program
is open before I copy it.
If I copy some text and then open Word to paste the text nothing gets
pasted. If Word is open before I copy the text, it works just fine.
Is there a setting that has changed or something else I'm missing?
Any ideas? Thanks in advance, DC

The Works Suite Add-in is usually blamed for this. When Word opens, it
clears the system clipboard.
The workaround for me is to always remember to open Word before I copy items
that I intend to paste.
I've read that uninstalling the Works Add-in will correct this, but I've
never tried that.

It will do it with Notepad Frontpage & other programs too.
