Using text labels in XY graphs

Hi,

I have 3 columns of data, as follows: x y label (text, one or
more characters)
3 2 a
4 6 b
7 9 a
etc.

Is it possible to create a graph where the text from the corresponding label
is shown at coordinates (x,y)? Ideally, there should be options for
centering or justifying the label relative to these coordinates.

I have seen this feature in other programs, but I have not bee able to find
it in Excel. Is this possible? Does it require vba? I am willing to
accept a vba solution.
