Hi;

I would find it useful to have Sql Server for my app, but the amount
of data to store is pretty small and I'm not sure the install
headaches are worth have the functionality. So.

What does installing Sql Server Express add to an installer? Is there
a way to make it basically invisible?

What happens if a person already has SqlServer on their system? Will
it not install Express?

thanks - dave

Perhaps could you have a look at Sql Server CE (compact edition).
It's small, easy to add to a project (one dll if I remember well).
But it is very basic.

Hi Dave,

Have you got any further idea on this issue? If you do want to use SQL
Express. In VS 2005 or vs 2008 setup project, it include a SQLExpress as
Prerequisite component. That can help detect and install SQLExpress if not
exists on target machine.

Sincerely,

Steven Cheng
