The version of PowerPoint you are using will affect how/if this can be done.
It has to do with the Master slide and its formatting. If your version of
PowerPoint can not handle multiple Masters, then you will have to reformat
the slides or better yet, link to a different presentation.

If your version can handle multiple Masters, then use the small 'Smart Tag'
(looks like a Minnie Pearl Hat price tag) that is attached to the copied
slides. Before modifying the slides, click this smart tag and select, 'Keep
source formatting.' This tag disappears whenever you begin to modify the
inserted slides.
