I am creating presentations using PP 2002 on windows XP.
I want to create a table of contents with hyperlinks. As
I follow the directions in the help screen, everything is
fine until it tells me to select the first slide of every
custom show and then click Slide Sorter button. The Slide
Sorter button does not work no matter what I do. It does
not even Illuminate. Help!
Thanks chris

Chris,
I think you are trying to create a TOC using the summary slide feature in
PowerPoint generates the summary slide on the
basis of title present on the slide. The only two slide layouts which don't
have this is the Blank Layout and the Large object layout. Hence if you use
either of these layout and select it to generate a summary slide it will be
grayed out. One way of circumventing it is to apply a different slide
layout or create a custom macro which generates the summary slide as you
desire.

Whoa... hang on there, professor! ;-) You misread the instructions.

It says to select the first slide of each custom show WHILE in slide sorter.
Once you have done this, you then click the SUMMARY SLIDE tool on the slide
sorter toolbar. Do that and it will work.

Let us know if you get stuck on any other part of the directions.
