Using rules to forward Outlook email to Gmail - getting forwardedemail showing up in inbox

Is there something wrong with the way I'm setting up this rule? I set
it up to forward every message I receive to "people or distribution
list" and have it forwarded to my gmail address. Now when it gets
forwarded a copy of the sent email is placed in my inbox. Is there any
way I can eliminate this redundant step?

What you want is a redirect, not a forward. Outlook rules do not allow for a redirect.

I was doing this for a couple of years with a different email address
and I never got a copy of the forwarded email in my inbox or sent box.
I didn't save that rule to refer to it but there must be a way to
eliminate that unnecessary email since I already have the original in
my inbox.

well I just set up another rule to send all forwarded emails to that
specific email address to the deleted folders. This seemed to clear up
the problem of the forwarded mail showing up in the inbox. Anyone
seeing that interfering with the first rule at all?
