My colleague and I are running XP. he has a problem with an application and
I want to connect to his machine using remote desktop. I've looked at the
help and got him to send me an invitation which supposed to tell me what to
do to connect. However when I click on the link on the email to the
Microsoft page I get a message from the Microsoft site that the page doesn't
exist!!!!
Can someone point me in the direction of an "idiot" guide which gives me a
step by step instruction on what to do to my machine to connect and what my
colleague should do to his.?
Many thanks
Tony

Tony,

I am assuming you are talking about Remote Assistance as opposed to
Remote Desktop because you used the word invitation. The invitation
that gets sent to you is sent through email contains an attachment
named RAInvitation.msrcincident. Open this attachment and you will get
a prompt asking for the invitation's password (provided there was one
specified) and then it will try to connect.

Keep in mind that there are other issues involved if you are dealing
with routers/etc. Read up on the other posts for more information
about those.
