I am trying to use remote assistance to help a friend.

She has a her XP behind a Linksys router model BEFSR41, my
XP is behind a Linksys Model, BEFSX41.

We initially tried to connect using email with the
firewalls turned off. Recently I also enabled port
forwarding for port 3389 on both machines without result.
My computer(expert) cannot resolve her address for a
connection.

We do not want to us Windows Messenger for a connection
because that causes problems with her IE browser.

Has anyone been successful in getting the above to work?
If you have I would appreciate knowing how you did it.

If your friend is behind a router, she shouldn't have the ICF activated at
all. Try opening port 3389 on the router, not her computer. If that
doesn't solve the problem, most routers have a "DMZ" zone where they'll pass
anything to the computer specified there. Use it, but only temporarily!
