Using Regedit.pol (of XP PRO) on XP Home?

Since gpedit.msc doesn't work under XP Home,
I created a Registry.pol file, with desidered tweaks,
under XP Pro.

I used "read access tweak" of GroupPolicy folder
and it's works great (policies are applied to every user
except Administrators) under my XP Pro installation.

Can I use this file under XP Home (by copying it
in \WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy\User
?

Of course, I haven't a XP Home installation so
I can't make any test.

Thanks in advance.

No, you cannot use XP Pro files in XP Home.

XP Home does not use Group Policies, and does not support them. The various restrictions need to be implemented on a per user basis. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Windows XP Security Console for a way to implement many of these restrictions on a per-user basis, quickly and easily.

Windows XP Security Console

Seems to have a few of options.

I don't find option to hide/disable units (A:, C:, D:, E: ...)
in "My Computer"

Buon giorno, Franco,

No, that feature is not yet implemented, but may be included in version 2.

I'll wait for version 2.
Thanks again.
