Is it possible to use RDP from a WinXP machine (client) to conenct to a
Win2000 machine (host)?

I have installed the required RDP client on the Win2000 machine. I see no
instructions on the Microsoft site on how to configure this client on the
Win2000 machine.

It seems I can use the RDP client on the Win2000 machine to successfully
connect to a WinXP machine with RDP configured. And of course, I am able to
use RDP successfully between two WinXP machines that are configured.

I am getting the error message: Remote Desktop Disconnected. The client
could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might not be
enabled.

I sure would like to know how to configure the RDP that is now loaded on the
Win2000 workstation.

Thanks,

I do it all the time from my WinXP machine at home with terminal services
installed on the Win2K servers at work.

Hello Tom,

On server versions from 2000 it works but not on professional.

Best regards

It's been a long time since I did this but it seems to me that before
XP, on NT4 & W2K workstations we could do that with NetMeeting. We were
using PC Anywhere but I'm almost certain that our CAD/CAM vendor did
some work on our WS with NetMeeting. Did I dream about that or was I
smoking something funny? I would have to try it and see, or perhaps
someone here already knows.

True. Thanks.
