using pictures for desktop background

How can I set any or all pictures I use for desktop background to be
centered. not tiled not stretched. Are there a way to set center as default?

Control panel > View > Desktop > Position > center

If the picture is saved as a .jpg you should be able to get it centered on
the desktop.

I appreciate your input but I have no problem setting a picture to center view what I want to know is can this setting -view-centered be set some way as default so no matter which picture I use it will set as centered not as stretched or tiled as some are now.
