using PC as phone

I can't speak for every service, you'd have to check but I don't see why
they wouldn't. Net2phone works with ADSL and all such services should work
better with broadband connection because it's simply using the data line to
deliver voice packets and because it is broadband, latency should be reduced
and quality should be better.

Personally, if I were moving in this direction, I'd prefer to use a service
that uses the telephone such as the previously mentioned Vonage,
www.vonage.com. Better quality, greater flexibility, the potential of an
extension in every room as long as the base phone is wireless (probably
should go with a 5Ghz model and digital spread spectrum) and you don't need
to have your PC booted.
