using outlook as a contact management system

I am looking into using Outlook as a contact management system and am looking
for information on what all it can do.

Is anyone using Outlook as a sales contact management system?

Are there any templates/training information that you found helpful to make
custom changes/templates etc.
 
I use it for sales but as it stands right now it can't be modified with
custom changes or templates (i.e. forms). So you have to take it the way it
comes out of the box.
 
You can definitely try working with the Business Contact Manager and check
if that works out better than the normal contacts form.

Beware that forms cannot be customized in BCM v2. However this functionality
is most probably expected to be present in the Version 3 of BCM.
