using office networking (wired) then home networking (wireless)

I have been having frustrating problems when going from
the office (lan, wired) to my home system (lan,
wireless).

If I use wired in both locations, all I have to do is
change the network NAME when I first turn system on and
RELEASE the connection before shutting down.

However, when I try to use wireless at home, nothing
seems to work without rerunning the network connection
wizard over and over until somehow it starts to work.
What is the secret to making this work when you are
alternating between wired and wireless? If you're
connecdting to two different networks alternately, why
does it seem so difficult?

Have you looked at setting up two different hardware profiles - one for Lan
and one for Wireless? (I presume you're using a laptop.....)

not sure how you set up two "profiles".

No. Go to Control Panel-System-Hardware and at the bottom there's a Profiles
button.
You can then copy the existing profile, and rename it. Then re-boot the
laptop, choose the new profile and set up your Home networking settings on
it. You can keep the original profile for the office set up.
