Hi, Guys i am using OEM Version of Windows XP Pro on my Samsung Laptop which
came with licensed media and that genune sticker at the bottom, but when i
try to install Defender on my Laptop it says Could not Validate Windows
Please visit the Microsoft Genuine Advantage site for more details?
Can anyone help me in installing Defender on my Winxp.

Hi Shakti,

and did you go to" the Microsoft Genuine Advantage site for more details?
Follow the instructions there and download all the updates of XP first
because WD will only work on a full SP2 machine!
Then download and install WD.

i need to fully update my windows.

Hi Shakti,

if you on SP2 thats alright, but WD update true windows automatic
update, so that must be working to! You need Validating to get the download!

You could run the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder
(http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml) to ensure that your XP was
actually installed using the key on the sticker.

Its working now, i had visited Microsoft Genine Advantage website and
downloaded the Activex plugin verifying weather my xp is original or not then
it gave me download option. what WGA has done is installed a legitcontrol.dll
file into my system32 directory. I think earlier it was not there. i was able
to verify 2 files being installed by MGA Site by Avast.
