Hi all,
I would like to be able to burn a copy of a Ghost image file onto a CD
(non-bootable) using third-party software that can be validated/restored
from within Ghost. I don't have any problems creating the CDR00001.GHO on a
separate partition of the hard drive or burning it to a CD. My problem is
that when I try to validate it from Ghost I immediately get an error message
to the effect that CDR00001.GHO was not created by Ghost and therefore
cannot validate.
From the Ghost User Manual...
I have not been able to locate any such knowledge base article on Symantec's
site.
Here are the parameters I used from within 3rd party burner (Nero)...
Multisession Disk
ISO Level 1 Mode 1
ISO 9660 Character Set
Label Type: ISO9660
Write Method: Track at Once
Finalize CD: Yes
Examining a CD that was burned directly by Ghost shows a single session
consisting of two tracks. I assume that it is the first track (2MB) that
Ghost needs to see to begin the validation process. What is contained in
that first track and how can I create it using 3rd party software?
Thanks in advance, Jeff R.

If you are writing directly to a CD using third-party software, use a
program that
lays out the format of the disc before it writes it, such as Adaptec E-Z
CD Creator.
Norton Ghost does not provide technical support for third-party software,
but
details on this method can be found in the knowledge base on the Symantec
Support Web site.
