Using new free truetypefont

Hello, All!

I downloaded a .ttf-file and put it in /Windows/Fonts. It does not appear
however in the pulldown-font menu in Outlook, Word etc.

Am I doing something wrong?

Did you stop and restart the programs after copying the font to
/Windows/Fonts ?

If you did, then move (not copy) the font to some other directory, then
use Start | Settings | Control Panel | Fonts to install the font.

It has to be installed. Put it somewhere else instead, and install it.
Windows will copy it into the Fonts folder and register it so it can be
used.

Just a little trick here. You don't have to install the font to use
it. All you have to do is open the font up and then reduce it to your
taskbar and then open your word processing program and then font
should be available to you. This helps by not having all those fonts
you want clogging up your font folder.
